This Sport Phaeton was sold new in Chicago and purchased by the owner alongside with 2 other Sport Phaeton’s. Part of the interesting history of this car was it was loaned to Republican Thomas E Dewey for him to use in 1948 presidential bid to become president. Very early in this cars life it was repainted black because the owner did not like the original color of Sequoia Cream. Only 230 of these magnificent cars were produced and 13/14 are known or thought to survive. This specific 81C is number 230 which makes this the last bodied 81C Sport Phaeton.
